$#From childhood, Atlanta-born Jessie Lyons studie d a n d c r eated art, becoming skilled in painting portrai ts a n d lan ds capes, as well as sculpture, etching, and e ngrav in g. Sh e g raduated Magna cum Laude in Art Educati on fro m t he Univ ersi ty of Georgia.
A scholarship at the prestigious Art Students Leag u e i n N e w York led to thirteen years of studying, teach in g, a nd p ro ducing art in New York, with exhibits in se ver al ga lleri es.
Later she spent time in Mexico where she appreciat e d a n d a bsorbed the culture, vivid colors, and art for m s of t ha t co untry. This proved to have a lasting infl ue nce o n he r work.
In 1983, she was commissioned to make a series of unbr e a k a ble picture windows for a major new psychiatric fac il i t y i n Atlanta. Researching the history and techniqu e o f s ta ine d glass for this project, the artist becam e fasc inat e d wit h the medium. She designed and produce d 32 wi ndow s m ade o f polyester resins which have the be auty an d th e loo k of st ained glass.
In 1987 she moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she be g a n a n e w business in stained glass creations. Duri n g a lo ng bo u t with cancer, she worked almost entirel y wi th pe n and i n k and water color.

BIO: William Wishard married Susannah Lytle, the daughter of a scottish Laird, much against the wishes of her parents. So much so that they had elope and after their marriage they came to American soil and lived for a time near Philadelphia, PA. From there they moved to Virginia where Wishard secured the services of Andrew Robison, a bonded servant. He, Robison, had sold his time to a ship's captain for a period of one year, who resold the time to Wishard. This was quite the usual thing for men desiring to get to America. Later, with his bonded servant, he moved to Kentucky, on the Licking River near Carlisle. It was here, after his time of service to Wishard expired, that the Robison-Wishard marriage took place.
