 Henry and Dorothy were buried in the Lenham parish c h u r c h in Kent Co.England. The Following inscription ov e r th e i r remains is still legible:

 "Here underlye the bodies of Henry Thompson and Doro t h y , h is wife, ofRoyton Chapel, in thi s Parish. He wa s t h e s on a nd co-heir of ThomasThompson (of Sandwich, M erch an t) , and s he th e eldest daughter of robertHoneywo od o f Pe tt , in Char ing."

He had sons, John, Anthony and William. Thomas Thomps o n , n a med last inthe paragraph above, also had sons, Jo h n , Anth on y and William. Thesenames, found together i n t h e Thompso n f amily of County Kent and the factthat t hre e b rothers, W illi am, Anthony and John, came from Eng lan d toA merica, 165 0, ma ke it seem highly probable tha t th e Thomp sons of Amer icades cended from the family o f Thomp son (o r Thomson) of K ent, En gland.There has bee n much co ntrover sy on this matte r, but e xtensive resear chhas fail ed to se ttle the point, a nd almos t all of tho se who have investiga ted the Thompson p edigree c oncede t he probabili ty of desc entfrom the famil y of Kent.
