Jacob Motsinger arrived in Pennsylvania on May 29 1735, and moved to North Carolina in 1776. He was actually named Hans Jacob Matsinger. Note both the extra name and the change in the spelling of the surname. He arrived married to a new bride, Magdelina Mantz, who, like Hans Jacob's first wife, followed the local custom or retaining her maiden name after marriage. The first wife (Felix's mother) had been Margaretha Fisher, born 1695, died 1734. Her parents had been Fondrd Fisher and Anna Abend.
