According to 1870 NC census, Transylvania county, NC, Dunns RockTownship, Dunns Rock Post Office, Microfilm page 415 - James Moody, 29years old, Farmer, Born in SC. Thomas J. Moody living with parents, 7years old.

According to 1860 census, Pickens District, 2nd Regiment, Microfilmpage 18 - James Moody, 20 years old, Farmer, Born in SC. Wife Rhoda,18 years old, born in SC. No children. Living next door to parents andfamily (See Joel Moody).

Pickens Sentintel, issue of Thursday, 17 August 1882: Married the 6thinst. by John O. Davis, Esq. Mr. Thomas Jefferson Moody and Miss RhodaMatilda Bourland (sic), all of Saluda Bend, Pickens county.

Died at home of son, Harold, following 2 weeks of ill health.

Greenville News, 1/27/1941: Thomas J. Moody, 79, died last night at 9:00 at house of his son, H.G.Moody, on Watkins Bridge Road. Surviving are his wife and thefollowing children: J.A., J.M., J.G., and H.G. Moody, Mrs Bessie Capps, Mrs. HattieCisson, and Mrs Eva Allison. He is also survived by 39 grandchildrenand 15 great-grandchildren. Mr. Moody was married twice. His firstwife, Mrs Matilda Boaldin, died in 1920. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by R.D. Jones and Sons,Morticians.

Greenville News, 1/28/1941: Funeral services will be held at Friendship Baptist Church nearMarietta at 11:00 this morning, conducted by Rev. Homer Couch, Rev.Paul Tankersly, and Rev. Clyde Allen. Internment will be in the churchcemetery.
