General Notes (Husband)



From Cheska Callow Wheatley "-He was Justice of Albany City & County between 05/27/1691 & 1696. He was Elder of Kinderhook church in 1716. From  Chesks's Genealogy "Will made 29 June1690 - makes no mention of any childern suggestion he did not anticipate having any heirs at the time of his death. May 27,1691 Peiter Vosburgh was sworn in  as one of the Justices of Albany City and county.  He held court at Kinderhookuntil 1696 and proably later. Pieter Vosburgh was elected an Elder of the Kinderhook Church, in 1716, and probably held the office from the first organization of the church. The last time his name appears in therecords is among the freeholders and inhabitants of Kinderhook, in the year 1720. Died after 1720 No record of his death has been found. Maries 1683-89 t oJanette BARENTSE, daughter of Barent Mydertse and wife Eytje."

BIOGRAPHY: From "OLD KINDERHOOK": June 31,1695, Pieter Van Alen deeded his share in the Groote Stuk to Pietr Vosburgh, eldest son of the litigious Geertruy Vosburgh." This books also contains records of land purchases and sales, tax rolls and values, support paid for the minister. Several sources list him as a Justice of Albany city & county, holding court in Kinderhook, he was a Trustee of the Town of Kinderhook, Elder of the Kinderhook Dutch Rev. Church.
