He bought land from John Hall 1744 Henrico Co, VA.  Gave land to Anthony 5 Aug 1757 & James land 7 Aug 1761 land was in Chesterfield Co, Va by this time. Sarah's last name may be Mosley.[Taylors and Leips.FTW]

In 1738 Bernard was in New Kent Co., VA and by 1744 he was in Henrico Co., VA. He bought land from John Hall there in 1744. On August 5 1757 he gave land to his son, Anthony, and on

General Notes for Child Anthony Taylor



Fought in American Revolution taken prisoner Dec 1781 died Porthmouth, VA of Samll Poxes.  Jan court 1772 he pays fifty pds for keeping of baster child of Judith Powell. Court order Dec 1781 has William & Littleberry bound to Church Wardens of Chesterfield Co, VA.  Anthony Taylor and Aaron Powell his son-in- law served under Col Robert Goode in war.  Recieved land from his father 5Aug 1757 in Chesterfield Co, VA.

Anthony's first and third wives' names are not known. The assumption is that Littleberry was the child of the first wife as were his older siblings.  Have only found two names for the wives of Anthony Taylor. Chesterfield Co., VA Order Book 6, pg. 334 "Dec. 7, 1781 Anthony Taylor's orphans, William and Littleberry Taylor, to be bound out by the Churchwardens of Manchester Parish." Chesterfield Co. , VA Order Book 6, pg. 360 July 5, 1782. "Anthony Taylor's orphan William Taylor, to be bound out by the Churchwardens of Manchester Parish." Jan Court 1772, Anthony Taylor pays fifty punds for keeping of baster child of Judith Powell. John West, son of Widow West, signed an affidavit for Anthony Taylor being in the Revolutionary War and dying at Portsmouth, VA in 1781. Cause of death: small pox. He served in the Revolutionary War under Col. Robert Goode.

Chesterfield Co., VA Order Book 6, p. 391. Jan. 3, 1783 Joshua Brummer to answer complaint of William Taylor, his apprentice.

In 1791 there is a land record that states Anthony Taylor has an Estsate record in Chesterfield Co., VA.  AnthonyTaylor died in Dec 1781 at Portsmouth, VA.


General Notes for Child James Taylor



Tax list 1762 Chesterfield Co., VA, Tax list of Bedford Co., VA 1789.

In 1773, James Taylor bought land on Meadow Creek in far northern Bedford, and in 1778 he bought another parcel on Ozlin Creek, where he would have been a neighbor of the Hatcher family.  James & Eleanor are also said to have had a son by the name of William.  This information comes from Debra Mc Cann.

August 7, 1761 Bernard Taylor gave land to his son, James, which by this time was in Chesterfield Co., VA which was formed from Henrico Co. in 1749.
