O'DELL, brother, 5308 E. 2nd St., Tucson, AZ 83711. (Letter to compiler, Nov. 1997) 4. Patricia D. (O'DELL) VORHIS, sister, 501 Ratcliff Dr., New Boston, TX 75570-2218. (Letter to compiler, 13 Jan. 1998)
BIO: Compiler had little contact with Colleen because of the age difference and the distance between our homes, but while working in Indianapolis, IN, compiler did have a few phone contacts with Colleen. She was working as a recreation director at the women's prison in Marion County. She tried to arrange a meeting. We planned to get together, but somehow it never happened. Compiler left Indianapolis in 1989; it is believed that Colleen was still living there at that time. In her letter to compiler in Jan. 1998, Colleen's sister, Pat, wrote of Colleen's occupation: "Recreational Director - YWCA, INDIANA INDIANA WOMEN'S PRISON OHIO DEPT. OF REC. FOR GIRLS' SCHOOL Prison Ministry: Colleen's own prison ministry: "Sisters thru Christ" Pat also wrote that she and her husband were planning to relocate to the Denton, TX area to be closer to their children. She added, "Colleen is in poor health, emphysema, and is also planning to move to Denton." Source: Elizabeth (Ann) Gilchrist-Jun 1998-O'Dell.GED

BIO: Alvin L., son of William H. and Nancy J. O'DELL, was born in his mother's home state, IOWA. This is probably a strong clue that his parents were married there, as well. The family evidently moved from IOWA to IL between Alvin's birth, July, 1893 and 26 June 1900, when the census enumeration was taken.
