He i s a n in th g enera tion descendant of William Wilcoxson, w ho cam e f rom H ertfor dshire, England, and settled in Mas sachuse tt s in 163 6. Hi s great-grandfather, William Wilc ox, cam e fr om Sander sfiel d (sic), Mass., to Akron, Ohio , then t o Dee rfield, Oh io. Mr . Wilcox has operated a fa rm in Str eetsbo ro most o f his lif e. He was married in 1911 to the former Mabel Ann Myers, d a u g h ter of Daniel Woodruff Myers and Lelie Janet Bedia n t My er s , both of whom were descendants of early New En gl and s ett le rs. Her paternal great-grandparents, Danie l Wo odruff , a n of ficer in the War of 1812, and Sarah An n Mil ls Wood ruff , cam e to Freedom, Portage County, Ohio , fro m Farming ton , Conn. , in 1838. Mrs. Laura A. Gordon, a Cleveland resident 43 years , d i e d S aturday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Genevie ve W hi tn ey , Titusville, Pa. She was the widow of Claren ce M. , w ho m sh e married in 1897. They came here in tha t year . Fo r 3 0 year s Mr. Gordon was a milk and cream bu yer fo r th e Cott age Cre amery Co., traveling in Northwes tern Oh io. H e die d in 1940 , five years after he had ret ired. Mrs. Gordon was born 80 years ago in Streetsboro, wh e r e h e r ancestors, Wilcox, Driver (sic), Combs, and Pac ke r , we r e among the first settlers there in the first q uar te r o f th e 19th century. For more than 40 years of h er r esi denc e her e Mrs. Gordon was a member of Brookly n Memor ia l Metho dist C hurch and was active in all of it s women' s o rganizat ions. Surviving her, besides her daughter, are two grandchil d r e n , four brothers and a sister, Miss Julia Wilcox , a re ti r e d teacher in the Cleveland public schools. Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the chapel o f C r o w n Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg.
