BIO: Joseph E. PARK was the ancestor of Glenn M. PARK, compiler of the PARK Genealogy ( son of Glenn A. PARK.) Per the data cited by Glenn PARK, Joseph was born while his family was living near Paxton in Ford Co. IL. He married Ann Louise SCHLAGER at Sterling, Rice Co. KANSAS, in 1891. The young couple lived with Thos. and Jennett PARK for two years after their marriage. They moved to a farm in Washington Twp.approximately 6 miles east of Sterling about 1897. About 1906, Joseph gave up farming and moved into Sterling, where he carried on a building and construction business. During this time Joseph served as Township Assessor and Justice of the Peace. In 1920 they sold their home and built a new one in Sterling. In his later years, Joseph retired from the building business, and acted as caretaker for the United Presbyterian Church, which was located across the street from his home. In 1943, the couple sold their home in Sterling, and moved to Parsons, KS, where they lived with their daughter Elsie. Joseph and Ann Louise had three children--two sons, Ralph Herbert and Glenn Albert, and a daughter, Elsie Maude, who later married John WILSON, a farmer from Garnett, KANSAS. Elsie and her husband later established a Dairy Delite Ice Cream Business, with stores in Parsons and later, at Miami, OK. In later years this couple moved to Sherman, TX, to be near their son John. Ralph Herbert PARK entered the field of education, and was in Lincoln, NE, until his death. Prior to his retirement, he was Building Maintenance Superintendent of the public school system there. The youngest son, Glenn Albert graduated from the University of NEBRASKA, majoring in Electrical Engineering, and joined the Long Lines Dept. of the American Telephone and Telegraph Co. He married Margaret Irene McARTHUR. This couple's son, Glenn McArthur PARK was the compiler of the genealogy. Glenn and Margaret retired in Santa Ana, CALIFORNIA.

General Notes (Husband)
Isaac Williams was a man of considerable repute in those days, as he represented the Town of Newton in the "General Court" of Massachusetts five or six years, and commanded a Troop of horse. His two sons, Isaac and Ebeazor be his first wife, protested against their father's will, as to the provisions in it in favor of his son Ephraim, by his second wife. This protest is now in the Probate Office at Cambridge, Massachusetts.

BIOGRAPHY: Issac Williams, born in Roxbury, moved around 1600 to what becameNewton, MA. He was made a freeman in 1685. He was a weaver by trade, and wasa captain of the Militia as well as being a Selectman and Representative (he served as representative in the years 1692, 1695, 1697,1699, 1701, and 1705). After the death of his first wife, he married Judith Cooper at Taunton, 13 Nov. 1677, and had several more children. According to Savage, his second wife influenced Isaac to make a will conveying most of his property to his youngest son,Ephraim. When Isaac died 11 Feb 1707, the other children, especially those ofhis first marriage, contested the will. They pointed out that a considerable amount of Isaac's land had come from his first father-in-law, Deacon William Parke. The will was set aside and an agreement was reached among all the children. In March 1708, Isaac, Eleazer and Ephraim took all their father's land in Newton, some 500 acres, paying and providing for the other children.
