Graduated from Winthrop College. Was a teacher for 43 yearsinAnderson, S.C. She taught at Cleo Baily Elementary School on East Whitner St. formanyyears. She taught 6th grade for a long time, then switched to 2nd grade. She never missed a day of school in all her years as a teacher, andwashonored by the school district when she retired at age 65. She died ofcancernext year. Aunt Frances took care of Granny Payne for all the years afterotherleft. She had many S.S. pins from her years as a teacher at RiversideBaptistCh. She finally had to miss S.S. when Granny was sick towards the end.
