Sybil lived with her husband at Wilton Avenue in Chiswick in a house owned by her husband's employer Sir William Foote-Mitchell.Just after the outbreak of WW2 they moved to Quendon Hall in Essex, still working for Sir William. In 1943, her husband went to work in Saffron Walden Essex for a company making synthetic resins ( Araldite and Redux) which were used in the construction of Mosquito aircraft. They moved to 4, Manor Cottages, Great Chesterford, Essex.
Her mother went to live with them after the end of the war and lived there until she died.
