From the biographical notes of Gretel Stiles: "Heinrich Perl was a director of the Apollo theatre in Nurnberg. The Theatr group lived in the Sendelbeck boarding house. Heinrich's rich parents refused to allow the marriage (between Heinrich and Marie) and threatened to boycott th Sendelbeck business, so a court case was dropped and Karl was brought up by grandparents and with their name. Henrich was killed in 1936 by the Nazis."
