 SETH KELLUM TAYLOR, a pioneer citizen and patria r c h o f a w ell-knownAmericus family died on 3 Jul 189 5 a t th e ag e of 8 3 yrs. A native of Pulaski Co,he had l ive d i n earl y manhoo d upon his plantation in Lee Co.  F ollo win g hisrem oval to A mericus he built a large hous e o n a rura l road ea st of th e community, which later wa s na med Taylo r St in hi s honor .  Mr Taylor was marrie d 3 tim es.His fir st wife, t o whom h e was wed in 1830, w as the f ormer Perme lia AnnCole y, of Pul aski Co; his sec ond brid e was Miss Am anda E. M. P orter of B aker Co, ,th e ceremon y taking plac e in 1837; an d his thir d wife wa s Miss Harr iett L. Van Va lkenburg, orig inally of N Y cit y, whom he m arried at Maco n in 1858. (thi s proved t o b e in error) Se th Taylor's ch ildred were:  Na ncy (Mrs . McDa niel Oliver) , Cherry Ann (M rs Erasmus L. Col lier ; later Mr s Wilburn ) Ezekial, Thoma s Kellym, Augustu s , Isaiah, Jesse , Mary E lizabeth and Luc y (Mrs John B.F elde r). The third Mr s Tay lor was a siste r of Mrs W. D . Hayne s and Mrs D. K.Brin so n, and an aunt o f Mrs Arthu r Rylander , all of Americus.
