My line, Collier Barksdale, son of William Barksdale, Jr. (son of William Barksdale, Sr. b. 1629 in England, d. 1694, Tidewater, Richmond, Va.) m. abt. 1736 Sarah Collier, in Charlotte Co., Va. My line is through his daughter, Elizabeth Barksdale who married William Edwards on Feb. 19, 1762, Lunenburg Co., Va. Gen. Barksdale of Civil War fame (Miss.) was also of this Barksdale line.

I happened to be reviewing your posting on the ancestry of Thomas Jefferson and found your posting, referred to below, which is one of my direct lines. [Sarah Randolph and Collier Barksdale are my 5th great-grandparents.]
As a matter of correction, the following applies: Sarah Randolph was not born in Appomattox Co., Va. as that county had not yet been established when she was born. Instead she was born at "Appomattox" (name of homeplace), Henrico Co., Va. [Appomattox Co., Va. was formed in 1845.]
