Weir says he was killed by Danes at Inverdorat, the Black Cove, Angus. Thought to have been the son of Kenneth Mac-Alpin, he succeeded Kenneth's brother, Donald, to the throne and bore the title of Constantine 1 although he was not the first king of that name in Scotland. During his reign his kingdom was frequently attacked by Viking forces sailing from Ireland. Following a landing in Fife in 879 his forces were routed at Dollar and in a further engagement at Forgan he lost his life.House of Fergus.

House of Fergus He was the first king of both the Scots & Picts to be referred to as "rialban or King of Alba". His kingdom was repeatedly ravaged by the Norse and he was killed fighting them.
