Henry Franklin BIOGRAPHY He lived at 426 W. Fifth Street until a few years before his death when he lived near Siglerville, PA. During his lifetime he was a farmer in Armaugh Township, and employed at the axe factory, Yeagertown and at Standard Steel Works, Burnham, PA. He was a member of Company G, National guards at Lewistown and a marksman of superior skill, winning medals for his feats for seven consecutive years. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Church. On the 1920 U.S. Census he is listed as a "cutter" at the steel works.

MEDICAL_CONDITIONS_(OTHER) Hypochondriac. Had hysterectomy as a form of birth control. Had her gallbladder out because a friend had hers out. Very low-energy person, rested a lot.

BIOGRAPHY Grandma was an all around artist. She worked with ceramics and oil paint. I remember her trying to show me how to draw, I don't know if she showed Karen or Dana any drawing. I have two of her paintings, a ship at night on a dark blue sea and a smiling cavalier (the lace was never finished). She had difficulty finishing some of her works - she started a painting of my dad in his army uniform (World War II), but died before she finished it. She did finish several paintings of Jesus. My parents had one, my other grandparents (the Aurands) had one and she painted one for the chapel at the Crosswinds Trailor Park in St. Petersburg, FL where she spend many winters away from the cold and snow of Lewistown, PA.

In 1859, they moved to Lawrence, Kansas, where the wife died in May 1862. About this time there were so many threats of raids on Lawrence by Quantrell and other Missouri Outlaws, that Mr. Snook decided to leave the place and return to Fairfield. Quantrell raided Lawrence early in 1863, burned the town and murdered 140 persons.

The Fairfield Ledger, June 20,1900 Page 3, Col.2 Ann Tuller Snook, wife of the late Hercules Snook, died at her home in this city, Saturday afternoon of consumption. Two children, a son and a daughter, survive her. The husband and father died about 18 months ago.
