Individual: Sharon had Scarlet Fever as a young child that left her with some learning difficulties. Diff iculties that never seemed to be a disability to Sharon. When her parents died Sharon was mad e a ward of the State of Oregon on 25 Sep 1963 and remained so until the day she died. Sharo n earned her keep as a cook and housekeeper in Adult Group Homes for persons who are able t o function in society but not live on their own. Sharon at one point was living in a home ru n by an elderly couple in their nineties. Sharon was able to balance their budget and pay al l of the bills and basically ran the home in the early 1970's. There was around 15 persons li ving in the home at the time. Sharon proved that most of her disabilities were put on her whi le she was growing up and she was labeled as such yet proved she was a very capable woman. Sharon neve r married or dated stating she never found the right person. Sharon rarely said an unkind wor d about anyone and had few complaints. Sharon was one of the most friendly persons anyone cou ld hope to meet and had a spirit about her that was uplifting to those around her. She spen t her life in the service of others and enjoyed her work. She lived a short 47 years before p hysical infirmities from diabetes caused her death. Her life was full and a good one to her.S haron died in Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland on 10th day after being admited from an hea rt attack. Diabetes Millitus/Arteriosclorosis/Myocardial Infraction caused the death. Burial in Riverview Abbey Mausoleum in Portland Oregon
