General Notes (Husband)



BIOGRAPHY: Richard Stratton was born in England, and came over on the "Speedwell" in April, 1656.  The first mention of him in Watertown is in April 1658; he then had a wife Susannah.

BIOGRAPHY: "Richard Straaton aged abought 30 years: Dyed the 25 of July."(Watertown Records)  In the Inventory of his estate no land is mentioned.  His widow Susannah, married Thomas Darkin, November 11, 1660and lived in Concord.

General Notes for Child Samuel Stratton



BIOGRAPHY: Samuel's father died when he was but three months old, and two & a half years later his mother married again.  By his grandfather's will in 1672 hewas to have a house and land in Watertown when he became of age.  He was then fourteen.  There is nothing more of him until 1689, when he is found living with wife Ruth in Concord, Ma.  Here his seven children are born.  "Samuel Stratton Husband to Ruth his wife died October ye 11, 1726."
