From _Franklin County (IL) News_, 6 Jan 1882: "On the 23rd ult., the infant child of Zach Sullins, living about one mile north of Benton, was so badly scalded that death resulted in a few days. While setting before the fire-place, a pot of boiling water was overturned, emptying the contents on the child."
