From Grissom/Curtis: Individual: " 976.9685 H2b p 71 Hamilton was appointed postmaster of the Hestand postoffice after J. K. H estand (his father-in-law). The post office remained in the Baxter family over 100 years. Th e same building that was built in 1904 still stands (picture on p 71). Hamilton's tombstone m arks the first grave in the Baxter Cemetery (located on a hill overlooking the valley of Hestand, KY) on the old Baxter farm in 1915.
