General Notes (Husband)



 In 1780 Isaac Timms settled in the Pendleton District , SC,fromMaryland.  He started milling on Six and Twenty Creek in 1784.In1820 he came into full ownership of the mill buying it fromSamEastridge.  He later bought 996 acres of land adjoining the millsitefrom the State of SC.  An August freshet washed the mill and damawayin 1847.  From 1836 to 1847 the mill was operated under apartnershipbetween Isaac and his son, Elijah.  In the fall of 1851thefatherformed a parternership with his son, Jesse, and re-built themill anddam.  Two Negroes belonging to Colonel Edwin did the workunder thesupervision of the owners.  Upon the death of Isaac Timms themillpassed into the possession of Jesse.
