Joined the unit at Mc Minnville, TN in Aug 1863 afte r s i c k ness of longduration and unabl e t o do militar y dut y . W a s sent to hospital. In Octrebels raided th e area a n d too k a ll sol die rs prisoner, robbing them o fclothin g a nd unl awfu lly parolling them. He was in Brid gepo r t , A L whenh e aske d for help to get to his regime nt . Th e union forc e faile d inattempt to g et hi m. O n 1 7 Jan 1 864 when Unio n force s arrived theyfound him a nd p er his r equest got h i m disc h arged from the conval escen tcamp. H e stayed wit h his unit , but was unable t o do sol di er's d u ty. On27 F eb 1864 h e became very la me with r humatism a nd was sent t o acomforta bl e hospit a l at Mc M innville. T hey had his di scharge pape rsmad e out and o n 8 Mar 1864 th ey t ook the m t o him and fo u nd him dead .
