He was of North Stratford, Connecticut, but moved to Ne w M i lford, Litchfield County, Connecticut, where he was a farmer. There is evi d e nce he served in the Connecticut militia during the Revolution, but some c r e dit his service to his son, David Beach, Jr. He bought land in Bridgewate r , C onnecticut, in 1768 but it is not known if he ever lived there, although seve r a l of his sons did.

The BEACH FAMILY MAGAZINE, Vol. I, No. 3, p. 65, gives Ly d i a (Harrington) Beach's date of death as above, but goes on to say her w i l l is dated 24-Sep- 1794 and was proved 14-Oct-1799; an obvious inconsisten c y . Daughter Lucy is credited to this man by notes of Theodore D. Rogers, of N o r walk, Connecticut, made in 1900, but this is questionable.

He is named as son, heir and executor in the will of his father, David B e a ch(6) of Newfield, Tompkins County, New York. On the 1850 Census of Newfi e l d he is found living just a few dwellings away from David(6) and immediately a d j acent to his brother, Peter Beach(7), who is also mentioned in David ' s e state papers. One source says he had twelve (12) children so this list m a y b e incomplete.

At the time of his father's death in 1856 he had move d t o O hio and had not been heard from since. He may have returned, however , a n d be the same as the Jeremiah Beach - said by some to be a son of George Beach ( 7 ) David(6) - who was b. 1827 and m. Melissa Cornish. He was of North Stratford, Connecticut, but moved to Ne w M i lford, Litchfield County, Connecticut, where he was a farmer. There is evi d e nce he served in the Connecticut militia during the Revolution, but some c r e dit his service to his son, David Beach, Jr. He bought land in Bridgewate r , C onnecticut, in 1768 but it is not known if he ever lived there, although seve r a l of his sons did.

The BEACH FAMILY MAGAZINE, Vol. I, No. 3, p. 65, give s h e r dates of birth and baptism as above, but at Vol. II, No. 1, p. 120, says b o r n 31-Dec-1752. This is clearly in error, however, if the date of baptism gi v e n is correct. Note also that in "Corrections and Additions" in Vol. II, N o . 2 , p. 158, it is claimed that Ruth Beach(5) Samuel(4) Josiah(3) Nathaniel ( 2 ) John(1) married a John Edwards. Whether there is confusion here or wheth e r i n fact each Ruth married a different John Edwards is unknown.
