Post Reply: A Zanesville Ohio newspaper, "The Sunday Times-Signal" of Sunday April 29, 1945, has a fairly large article under the heading: "Watts Jewelry Store Marks 75th Anniversity" The article has pictures of the store, A.H. Watts the founder, and the current owner Charles H. Watts, his son. Unfortunately, the article doesn't give the names of A.H. Watts parents or siblings, but it does contain some clues and some other interesting information. A summary of the information is given below: The store was founded by A.H. Watts, who was born in England of a jewelry merchant family, his father operating a jewelry store in Oxford, England. His father came to this country and opened a jewelry store in Rochester, New York. A.H. Watts came to Zanesville when he was 36 years of age. He retired from the business in 1920 and died in 1928 at the age of 94. The following paragraph I have transcribed verbatum, from the newspaper:
"The Sunday Times-Signal" of Sunday April 29, 1945, "Watts Jewelry Store Marks 75th Anniversity"
"Charles H. Watts, son and present owner, still has in his possession the English business card reading "Watts Clock and Watchmaker, Jeweler and Engraver, High Street, Oxford. Also he has the engraved copper plate for printing billheads with the crest and family coat of arms. The crest was given to the Watts family by King Charles II, and is still used on the merchandise boxes."
The on line copy that I have access to, via subscription, is quite poor quality. I would suggest that if you would like a copy of the article and the pictures, you contact someone in Zanesville (maybe the library), who should be able to get you a better copy from the microfilm. While the article didn't contain the names of the family members that you were looking for, some research in Rochester, New York and Oxford, England should enable you to find the names you are seeking. It would appear that the Watts family was fairly prominent in their community. Good Luck with your research!
