BIO: Although Pearl and Herman were both born and spent most of their lives in Fulton County, IN, they were married in Peru, Miami County. Mary Jane was born about four years after the marriage, but her place of birth was not given.  Her brother, Ronald, was born in South Bend, IN about three years after Mary Jane.  Her birth could have been in Miami, Fulton or St. Joseph County.

BIO: William E. Weir was born one day after James B. Gilchrist, compiler's brother.  His mother, Geneive, had known the Gilchrist family who were renting a house from her father.  She had followed Elizabeth Gilchrist's pregnancy as it paralleled her own and after her son's death, she continued to have an interest in Jim Gilchrist's growth and development because her son would have been having much the same experiences.
