He removed to Terra Haute, Illinois, before 1857. He ser v e d in Company B, 91st Regiment, Illinois Volunteers, from 7-Aug-1862 to 12 - J ul-1865. In 1878 resettled in Page County, Iowa. The BEACH FAMILY MAGAZINE, Vol. III, No. 3, p. 280, says he died 9-Jul-1883, but m o r e reliable authority shows he died at the Iowa State Hospital at Mt. Pleasa n t o n 6-Jul-1882. After her husband's death she moved to Alliance, Nebras k a , with her youngest son, Ellsworth Beach, and established a cattle ranch th a t e ventually grew to 1000 acres.

Wilso n & C o ., 1876, p. 102, says "born Nov. 24, 1770, in Essex county, N.J." The s a m e source says he died 4-Mar-1852.
