He removed to Terra Haute, Illinois, before 1857. He ser v e d in Company B, 91st Regiment, Illinois Volunteers, from 7-Aug-1862 to 12 - J ul-1865. In 1878 resettled in Page County, Iowa. The BEACH FAMILY MAGAZINE, Vol. III, No. 3, p. 280, says he died 9-Jul-1883, but m o r e reliable authority shows he died at the Iowa State Hospital at Mt. Pleasa n t o n 6-Jul-1882. The attribution of this man as a son of George Beach( 7 ) i s uncertain. He may instead be his brother, Jeremiah Beach(7), who moved to O h i o. George Beach(7) was born c. 1810 and would have been only 17 a t t h is man's birth c. 1827. Likewise, no Jeremiah appears in the household o f G e orge(7) on the 1850 Census, although he might have moved from the househ o l d by that time. He is placed here based on notes of a descendant of Georg e ( 7) who has researched this family, but the identification should b e c o nsidered tenative.
