The BEACH FAM I L Y MAGAZINE gives this child as a daughter of John Beach(2) John(1), but not e s i n Vol. I, No. 4, p. 109, that "... there is no proof that John (2-1) had a da u g hter Ruth. She is not named in his will dated 1705."

The 1816 will of Sa ra h (Midd lebr ook) B each, however, names a John Beach a s on e of he r fou r sons.
There is some question about his attribution as a son o f N e hemiah Beach(5). A John Beach was appointed administrator of the estat e o f N ehemiah Beach(4) James(3) Nathaniel(2) John(1), so it is possible this J o h n belongs to that line rather than this.

She was NOT, as some claim, Mary Staples, daughter of Tho m a s Staples. The early New England genealogists confused John Beach(1) w i t h his son, John Beach, Jr.(2). It was the latter who married Hannah, t h e d aughter of Thomas Staples. Mary, the wife of John Beach(1), is mentioned o n l y once - at the birth of the youngest son Benjamin(2) - such that it is p o s sible she was a second wife. She is not named in the administration o f h e r husband's estate, and so probably died before him.
