The Woodwards came from Derbyshire, England to America and first settled in New Jersey, about the year 1686, later moving to Virginia.When she came to Tennessee she made the trip as far as Nashville, TN with General Andrew Jackson and wife.  There were no ways of travel then but over-land. She spent several weeks as their guest at the Hermitage.
