The BEACH FAMILY MAGAZINE, Vol. II, No. 1, p. 119, sa y s h e was born 7-May-1748 and married Abigail -----. One daughter is gi v e n, i.e., Deborah, born 1768 and married Josiah Priest. In "Corrections a n d A dditions" at Vol. III, No. 1, p. 221, a son William is credited "on author i t y of Strong genealogy." Family records, however, say he was baptiz e d a s above and died by drowning near Binghamton, Broome County, New York. A des c e ndant claims nine children in this family, but only the seven below are kn o w n by name.

He was later m a d e a captain and commanded a detachment on guard at the Morristown Court H o u se from October, 1777, to January, 1778. His son, Asa Beach, served i n h i s company and his pension papers describe both men's service. Joseph mov e d t o Charlton, Saratoga, New York, c. 1791, and later to New Auburn, wh e r e he died.

Others say he had a son, John Kenney Beach, bor n 2 3 -Jan-1779, and/or a son, Henry Beach, born 17-Mar-1782 and died 1864. So m e a lso claim his wife was Phebe ----, who died Dec-1780, but the family Bible g i v es his only wife as Hannah Stiles. He settled in Dixboro but removed to n e a rby Lima Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan, in 1853, and is buried in t h e L ima Township Cemetery.
