General Notes (Husband)



Peter Sr. was born prior to 1700 in Palatinate, a part of theGermanempire. By 1728, he was in America in the disputed territorywhich laybetween Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and Frederick County,Maryland.This territory was later called the Mason-Dixon line. Therecords ofMaryland show that on "March 6, 1739 patents fornaturalization issuedin common form to Peter YOUNGBLOOD of PrinceGeorge County, a nativeof Germany, and to William and Peter his sons,and Sarah and Mary hisdaughters." The YOUNGBLOOD's disappeared fromMaryland tax books by1755 and received land grants in Orange CountyNorth Carolina. By1770, Peter was selling his land in NC and receivingland grants inColleton County, South Carolina. By the RevolutionaryWar all theYOUNGBLOODS were in the Orangeburg District in and aroundEdgefield,SC. Peter Jr. was a Captain in the war and his son Samuelserved inhis command. It is believed that Peter Sr. died after comingto SC butbefore the war.


General Notes for Child Peter Youngblood Jr



Peter Jr. was born in Maryland about 1732. He had moved with hisfamilyto North Carolina and then on to South Carolina. By 1770 theyhadsettled in Orangeburg District around Edgefield. Peter was aCaptain inthe Revolutionary War with his son Samuel serving in hiscommand. Hebought land just across the state line in Georgia in1775.Peter died in1788 and a deed shows that his wife and eightchildren had moved backinto SC after his death.
