John Berry (Jack) Hobbs was one of England's greatest cricketers in the 20th century. He first played on Parker's Piece, a green near Downham College where his father was employed as a gardener/groundsman His first  county cricket match was for Cambridgeshire in 1903 and for Surrey in 1905.  In 1920 he aggregated 2,827 runs in one season.  he later captained the English team who played against the Australians captained by Don Bradman.

Franklin & Mary settled on a farm in the Hickory Flatwoods, a rolling prairie like plateau, at the headwaters of Lost Creek, south east of Greenville, living there for 20 years. Eight of their ten children were born there. In 1887 because of the lack of water and poor soil, Franklin moved his family to the St. Francis River valley, about five miles south of Greenville. this place is about four or five miles upstream from the Cozort homeplace. They lived there until their deaths.

Married by a minister, Henry Y. Mabrey. They lived for a few weeks at the home of David and Eliza Cozort, then moved to another house beside the Luffsy, or Whitt Spring, about half a mile away.. This place was also owned by david. They lived there for several months. Their first son Raymond was born there.  Delia Adeline BERRY was born on 27 Feb 1882 in Greenville, Mo.  Died on 17 Oct 1965 in Poplar Bluff Missouri. She was four years old when her family moved to the St. Francis River farm. She attended Oak Grove School which was about 2 miles from her home and completed sixth grade. when she was a young girl she worked at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Rhodes keeping house In the 1960, Delia lived alone in the house on the farm after the children all married. James Osa was there with her part of the time. Abt 1952 she fell and broke a hip bone and was crippled from that time, walking only with crutches. Abt. 1960 she suffered a severe stroke and was bedridden until her death Oct 17, 1965. She is burried at Poplar Bluff Cemetery beside James Osa. Merged General Note: .

    You have a mistake posted on your website that I have also seen on other sites.  I have written to other researchers about this and I feel I should let you know that you have posted erroneous info rmation.
    My great-grandmother, Rosa Ann Berry, was NOT married to Rad Frederick.  Rosa was married to James Jordan Frederick.  They are buried together in Wayne County Missouri at Estes Cemetery.  Rad Fred erick was married to Sarah Elizabeth Neighbors and this couple is also buried at Estes Cemetery.  Rad and James were brothers.
     My grandmother, Grace Blanche Frederick, was James and Rosa's youngest daughter.  She was NOT married to a Wilson or a Crady.  She was married to my grandfather Roy Edgar Alexander.  They are bur ied together in Butler County Missouri at Mt. Zion Cemetery.  Grace's sister, Nellie, was married to Christopher Columbus Boyer.  They are buried in Carter County Missouri at Hill Top Cemetery.  Grac e and Nellie also had several other older sisters and one brother.
      I realize that it will be a bother to change your information on the Internet, but I think it would be wrong to leave it there if you truly care about family research.   The Internet spreads inf ormation like wildfire and I know that my grandmother, who was a very private person, would not want her name on it.   But... if it has to be there, she would definitely want the right men named as he r father and her husband!
      Thank you for your prompt attention this matter.  I hold my grandparents' and my great-grandparents' memories sacred in my heart, as I'm sure you do your own.
