11. Elizabeth Davis (Goldsmith) (Brackenbury) (Durfee) (S m i th) (Lott), 1791-1876, married Joseph polyandrously bef o r e June 1842, approximately at age fifty or fifty-one. S h e h ad martied her first husband, Gilbert Goldsmith, on A pr il 1 3, 1811; he died on December 24, 1811, leaving he r wit h on e son. She then married Joseph Brackenbury betwe en 181 5 an d 1819. They converted to Mormonism and had fiv e sons , bu t he died in December 1831 while serving a miss ion. Sh e mar ried Jabez Durfee in Missouri in 1834 and sta yed wit h him u ntil 1844 or 1845. After Joseph Smith's dea th, sh e marrie d Cornelius Lott for time on January 22, 18 45, bu t the marr iage was short-lived. The rest of her lif e she s pent with h er Brackenbury sons in Utah, Missouri , Colorado , California , and Kansas. Ironically, she and t wo of her s ons joined th e Reorganized Latter Day Saint ch urch in Sa n Bernardino, Ca lifornia, and she died as a pra cticing Reo rganized Latter D ay Saint in Kansas.

He was honorably discharged 25 Sept. , 18 99 , a s a pr ivate at Presidio of San Francisco, Ca . by re aso n o f muste r out of the Company. When he enrol led i n th e serv ice, h e stated he was born in Oshkosh, W isc. a nd wa s 33 2/ 12 year s of age. He enrolled 26 Apri l,1898 . I hav e a lett er fro m the Veterans Administratio n whic h says h e died 8 M ay, 193 3 and is buried in the H ampto n Nationa l Cemetery, g rave #18 68-A, Section C. This is per a letter in m y (N orm a n Ca tanzaro) posession written by her husband a t th e ti m e of he r death. I located her grave in the Sho shon e Bas i n in Nov 1 990. It is about 22 miles southeas t o f Hollis te r, Twin Fal ls, Id. and about 3/8 of a mil e eas t of th e Sho shone Basi n road and 150 yards west o f Shosh one Cree k on t he west edg e of cattle salt lick . The gra ve site i s i n a direct lin e west of an east/w est fence d ividing pr oper ty owned by Ore n Jones and Ro b D. Rogerson .
