Attended priva te schools; graduated from Erskine College, A.B., 1860, wit h first honors. In Confederate War, served four years, in 6 th Regiment, S. C. Volunteers, as second corporal and fla g bearer; wounded at Fort Harrison and Seven Pines. Marrie d Frances Eliza Adams- May 2, 1871. Planter at Avon, Fairfield County. Major on staff of Govern or Wade Hampton. S.C. House of Representatives, 1877-80, 18 84-88, 1890-92; 1906-08. S.C. Senate, Fairfield, 1892-98. Survivors Association of 8th Regiment .
