The family I think you are referring to is of Benjamin Cornell, b. 1743, who m. Sarah ___.  T heir son Smith, b. 23 Dec. 1776, m. Mary Fair (b. 1 Jan. 1783, Frederick Co., d. 1 Jul. 1860 , Richardson, Neb.).  Benjamin d. 25 Aug. 1803 in Frederick Co., MD.

Benjamin and Sarah also had a son Jacob, and I have no information about him.  Would sure lik e to.  What can you tell me?

Many people want to think the wife of Thomas was Rebecca Briggs, but the evidence does not pr ove this with certainty.

My 3xGGF was a Smith Cornell, b. 1799, m. Lucy Ann Wait.  His father was Gabriel Cornell wh o remains a dead end.

What sources do you have for Jacob?  I am updating the Cornell genealogy of Prentiss Glazie r with sources and welcome new information.

My family is Canadian, by the way, and most of my research is there and in eastern NY.  A mem ber of my Wait family married a Beam, and I have a Beam correspondent.  I think they came t o Canada from Pennsylvania.  Any chance of a connection?
