Aubra died on 11 February 1962 in St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley,Illinois where he was been a patient for 4 days. Services were held by Krueger Memorial & the First Baptist Church of LaSalle. (LaSalle, Peru & Spring Valley are all called the Illinois Valley.) Aubra (also found spelled "Aubrey" in city directories) according to Vickie Kohr
Aubra came to Illinois in 1913 after the birth of his daughter, Frances, or possibly the following year. He came to work at the Westclox Company in Peru, Illinois. According to Peru city directories, he was a laborer in 1917-1918, worked at Illinois Zinc Company in 1919-1920, & beginning in 1926 as a buffer & plasterer at National Sheet Metal where he retired after 41 years of service.
He and his wife and family moved several times when they first came to Illinois. Their first home in Illinois was on Main Street in Peru. By 1917 they had moved to Seventh Street, Peru and in 1919 to First Street, Peru. From 1926 until his death, he lived on Fruit Street in Peru.
