Francis emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1719 and was the first settler on a tract of land known as the Manavon Tract, around 25 miles north of Philadelphia which he bought (625 acres) for 195 Pounds.  The city of Phoenixville is now located there. Sources differ on the maiden name of his wife:  she also appears as Mary Durst, born about 1690.
