LDS Family Registry marriage sheet '86 142 0373 shows JohnMcAdamsson/o James McAdams married in 1795 a Mary Teague. His sonJames isshown as marrying Nancy Burdine in 1839 and then marrying in1849 anAmanda Mason. Individual sheets '86 251 0413/0414 showJamesMcAdams(son/o John) & wife Nancy Burdine as parents of Mary E1840,John 1842, James H 1845, and Sarah J 1848. Now comes James' 2ndwifeAmanda Mason, b 1825 in Pickens Co, d/o George Mason, as motherofGeorge 1850 and Mason B 1852. (These sheets were registered by VieNNash of National City CA and researched by AmericanGenealogicalResearch of Washington DC) I feel pretty certain that thegenealogicalfirm that looked up the data on these sheets confusedJames McAdams(son/o James Sr & Mary Lathum McAdams) with his firstcousin JamesMcAdams (son/o John & Mary Teague McAdams). Sons of Adamsays (onpage 143) that John & Mary Teague McAdams had 1 dau & 4 sons(1800Census), of whom 1 son had died before James McAdams father ofJohnwrote his will in 1828 leaving John's share to three sons, whomheunfortunately did not name. If one of those three wasn'tnamedJames, then this must have been the only McAdams family of the18thand 19th centuries that didn't have a James in its ranks!
