Young Life Taken from Our Midst. Little did we think a trifle over a week ago that Fred Habel would be with for just a short time longer, but after a week of illness, he passed away at his home on West Locust Street, of pneumonia. Fred Harvey Habel was born to Mr. and Mrs. William Habel on November 24, 1890, and departed this life Saturday afternoon November 16. In his early life he worked with his father on the farm north of Three Oaks. June 14, 1914 he was married to Miss Hazel Burgone of Sawyer to which union two children were born, Gertrude Lydia and Ruth Janet, both living at the time of his death. We all knew Fred, well liked by all young people and very popular with them. Up to the time of his sickness he was a perfect picture of health and when the sad news reached us, we could hardly think it possible. Freddie will be greatly missed at his own home and by all who knew him always having a smile on his face. He leaves to mourn his lose his wife and two children, his father, William Habel; two sisters Elva of Three Oaks and Mrs. Lydia M. Meyers of Chicago, IL, and one brother, Arthur Edward.
