General Notes (Husband)



   Daniel was drowned off Black Rock, Coh., 4 Jan 1773.  T h e following relating to the death of Daniel Burrell is c o p i e d from the "Mass.achusetts Gazette" a newspaper purb. in Bo s t o n :  "Feb 11, 1773.  We hear from Cohasset, that last Tuesday se- n i g h t a very sorrowful accident took place there.  Two men went a-gunning a small distance from the shore in a canoe;  it is supposed the canoe was either sunk or overset where b y t h e y were both unfortunately drowned.  Neither the bodies nor the boat have been discovered.  One of the persons was Daniel Bu r r e l l, Jr. of Hingham, a likely man in the prime of life , w h o h a s left a poor sorrowful widow and several small children.  T h e o t h er was John Marshall Lincoln, a promising young man, the o l d e s t son of Mr. Ephraim Lincoln of Cohasset, who had just comp l e t e d his apprenticeship in this town, and was there upon a v i s i t t o his friends."
