General Notes (Wife)
Martha Anne Feagin was the half-sister of William H. Fe a g i n . Mattie as she was called, boarded Henry C. Camer o n wh i l e he worked as a printer in 1869. Since Matti e wa s mar ri e d to Gilbert Clark Cameron, this shows a fa mil y relati ons hi p is likely. The 1869 City Directory f or A mericus , Geor gia , shows Martha Anne Feagin workin g a s a seamstre ss.

General Notes (Husband)
Henry C. Cameron worked as a printer and thus travel e d a l l over. For a time, he boarded with Martha A. (Feag in ) Ca me ron who was married to Gilbert Clark Cameron. F ami ly lo re has it that he deserted his family after Henr y All en Ca m e ron was born in 1882. I don't believe thi s is th e enti re truth. His wife died that same year prob ably giv ing bir th to Henry Allen. I haven't found any re cords tha t indica te that he abandoned his children nor ha ve I foun d any tha t indicate that he kept them.
In 1870 Census, found at Renwick P.O. in Lee County, Ge o r gia, with apparently father and possibly two brothers . L e e is directly below Sumter County. By this time, Gi lbe r t C .Cameron, husband of Martha A. Feagin, is also i n Sum te r County.

THE GEORGIA MILITARY INSTITUTE. The number of cadets in this institution has been conside r a bly increased. Upon the advance of Sherman's army the battalion of cad e t s was ordered into active service. At the Oconee bridg e a n d other places where they met the enemy they acted wi th d is tinguished gallantry. The State has much reason t o be pr ou d of this gallant young corps. I must not omit to mention with my warmest approbatio n t h e conduct of the State Scouts under Captain Talbot, w ho h a s shown himself to be a gallant, fearless leader. Prudent's Artillery and the other troops of Major Caper ' s b attalion, are also entitled to honorable notice. Thi s w hol e battalion under its chivalrous leader, in presenc e o f Adj utant and Inspector General Wayne, who accompanie d th em dur ing the campaign from Gordon to Savannah and th enc e to Augu sta, discharged their duty energetically an d fait hfully. Th e report of General Wayne will be laid be fore th e Militar y Committee of the two Houses upon applic ation.

General Notes for Child Eugenia Cameron
Eugenia Cameron was a wonderful mother and wife to h e r h u s band and children. She did, however, have a ver y b ad t em pe r. At William's funeral something was sai d abou t hi m be in g the judge of men and now he would b e judged . Sh e lef t th e church never to attend again.
Eugenia owned a small store where she did sewing a n d s o l d a variety of items to supplement the family's i nc om e . She was very close to all of her children excep t f o r m y g . grandfather, John Thomas Feagin. After hi s fat he r di ed , he became very rebellious and caused he r a gre a t dea l o f problems. She was glad to sign the p apers t o a llow h im t o join the U.S. Navy where he serve d durin g WWI.
Malaria was a problem in Georgia in the early 1900's . E u g e nia Feagin came down with it and her mother deci de d t o mo v e her family to Florida. They lived there fo r ye ar s unti l a ll of the children were on their own.
In her later years, she was taken care of by her so n L e r o y Feagin. It was at his home that she died. Sh e w a s a me m ber in good standing of Eastern Star and att end e d churc h re gularly.

m . Matilda Smith m2. Jane Cameron m3. Hannah Mullenwick
Came to the western Counties of PA in 1793, during a time known as the Whiskey Insurrection. Source: History of the Van Wye Family in 1902,byEnoc Wright Van Wye
Jane and Charles had a large family. The 1796 tax roll of Middle Smithfield Twp of Monroe Co Pa shows a Charles Van Why.
The Journal of Enoch Wright Van Wye says that Charles came to Washington Co PA in 1793 during the Whiskey Rebellion; he was discharged in Washington Co, remained there several years, and married Jane Cameron there. He later moved to Trumbull Co OH, lived along the Mahoning River until he died about 1855.
The book History of Northeast Ohio said that a Charles Van Wye was born in 1797 and came to Trumbull Co in 1806.
Tax records show that he moved from Howland Twp to Weathersfield Twp between 1825 and 1826.
Whitesell papers show a Charles Van Wye married a Margareta Mills at Sussex Co NJ 1 Feb 1798. Other Source: James Hannum, M.D. May 1999
General Notes (Wife)

Jane and Charles had a large family.
General Notes for Child Mary M. Van Wye
[bobspu.ged]
Her name was found on page 255 of the 1860 census of Weathersfield Twp of Trumbull Co Oh, living in the household of her son in law and his wife, James and Mary Earle Patten. The index of cemeteries in Trumbull Co shows only one Mary Van Wye, in the Center Cemetary at Braceville: 1851-1924.
The land ownership maps of Trumbull Co show a Charles VanWay in Weathersfield Twp in 1830, on land that bordered the land owned by Joseph Earl in 1840 (Charles still owned the same land in 1840 and 1850, and also owned a strip of land bordering this Weathersfield tract, in Lordstown Twp). By 1840, a James and an Abraham Van Way owned land a bit further north of Charle VanWay and Joseph Earl; also, Charles VanWay owned land in Lordstown Twp in 1840 which physically bordered the land he had in Weathersfield Twp; it seems highly likely that Mary was either the daughter or sister of this Charles VanWye. The book Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley, page 231, states that Abraham came from Washington Co Pa about 1834, so Charles, as being there at least by 1830, is a better candidate for father or brother of Mary. In 1840, a Daniel and Enoch lived on same page with Charles in Weathersfield; by 1850, Charles was gone and only Daniel s name remained (Charles probably deceased before 1850). The 1850 Weathersfield Twp Trumbull Co census shows Abraham Van Wye, 53, born Pa, wife (?Charity) age 50, born Pa; that census did not show the name of Charles Van Wye in Trumbull Co. The 1860 census shows a Mary Van Wye, age 15, born Ohio, living in the family of John Tait, in Lordstown Twp.
