General Notes (Husband)



  Hardy GILSTRAP was born in North Carolina about 1769. He livedinthat state until 1805-1810 when he moved his family to thePendletonDistrict, with his brother Lewis GILSTRAP and his family.Hardy owned300 acres along the Twelve Mile River Valley. He died in1829 and hiswife Anna Carlton GILSTRAP and son John were appointed toadministerthe estate.


General Notes for Child Peter Gilstrap



Peter Gilstrap and Mary had three other children who died i n 1843 with scarlet fever.  Do not know their names. In a letter dated June 17, 1854, Peter says he and wife have had seven children but four living. We lost three of them with the scarlet fever, two died in November 1843 one day and night and other in ten days.  Anne Dove Carlton-Gilstrap living with Peter at this time.
