This family lived in Orange County, Indiana.

It is probable, but not proven, that John Collins is related to Amasa Collins, husband of Polly Angeline Adams, and perhaps related to Amy Collins Adams, the 2nd wife of Aaron Adams, and that they came to Indiana together. Aaron married Amy in New York, and the census shows that John Collins was born in New York.
