BIO: Obituary copied by Leta Grubb:
ANOTHER PIONEER GONE Died suddenly, Mar.2, 1879, Mrs. Jane Parmer, of Clark Twp., in this county. Mrs. Parmer was born in Ky. in the Greene River country, Muhlenburg Co., Sept.8, 1807. Was married to Thomas Robison Aug. 10, 1826. Some time in the year 1828, Mrs. Parmer, with her husband and two children, moved on their farm near where the village of Clarksburg now is, where her husband, Mr. Robison, died in Feb. 1836. She was married to Isaac Parmer, Esq. in Apr. 1838, who died Feb. 1870. She was the mother of thirteen children, eight of whom survive her and deply mourn their loss. She lived on the farm for fifty years or more. Was respected and revered by her children by her children, and had a friend in every person, high or low, who ever made her acquaintance. Three of her sons, and five sons-in-law, were soldiers for the Union in the war of the rebellion. One of her sons died in the army, and the other two were prisoners for 10 months, coming out of the service with broken health--one of which since died. It is a remarkable fact that all of her sons, sons-in-law, step-sons, and step-sons-in-law, and grandsons, are all of the same political opinion, Republican, and members of the same church. She joined the church in her youthful days. When the Christian church was first organized in this neighborhood, she went in as a charter member, and was a consistent member till her death. She had the pleasure of seing all of her children become members of the same church.. Her remains were followed to the church by a large concourse of people, where a funeral discourse was preached by Dr. R. T. Brown: "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord." She fought a good fight, kept the faith, and has gone to rear her reward. May her ashes rest in peace. Born source: Robison-Parmer Family Tree by George William Robison

BIO: OBITUARY--PARMER Noah Parmer was born in Johnson County, Indiana, Oct 31, 1840 and died in Stockton, July 2, 1903. He was united with the Christian church at the age of 18 and lived a good life all of these years, loved and esteemed by all who knew him. He enlisted in the service of his country in July, 1861, spent ten months a prisoner in Libby prison at which place his health was shattered. He was discharged in September, 1864. He was married Nov. 2, 1865 to Mary McClaine. To this union were born five children; one died in infancy, the four were with him at the time of his death; as were also four sisters--one from Goodland, one from Pawnee City, Neb., and two from Indiana. Several of his friends were also present with him. The deceased camt to Kansas in October 1878 and settled in Osborne county, where he lived until five years ago, when he came to Stockton. A short funeral service was held at the home on Friday morning; then the remains were taken to the Dibble school house, 5 miles east of Woodson, where services were conducted by Rev. Poe of the Christian church and the body laid to rest. In this death a loving husband and father and a good christian worker and a good citizen have gone from us forever. Obituary from "The Christian Evangelist" March 8, 1923 Margaret Ellen Griffith Her presence a Benediction. Her memory precious. Margaret Ellen Parmer was born in Johnson County, Indiana, March 1, 1846. Died at Jefferson, Oregon, Jan. 5, 1923. She was the last of a family of eight children born to Isaac and Jane Parmer. A surviving half-brother lives in Indiana. She was married to John F. Griffith, Oct. 22, 1868. To this union, six children were born, five of whom survive: Edith G. Anderson and Jessie G. Smith of Jefferson and George P. Griffith of Salem, Ore.; Laura G. Greenfield of Wichita, Kansas and Olive Griffith of Jubbulpore, India. She, with her husband, moved to Kansas in 1884 and to Pawnee City, Nebraska in 1888. At this place they made their home until 1915 when they came to Jafferson, Ore. She gave her life to the Lord in early womanhood and throughout her life was a happy, hopeful vital member of the body of Christ, the church. Her earnest desire for the spread of the gospel over the world, contributed to the career of her daughter, Olive, who has been a missionary in India since 1905. Her body was laid to rest beside her husband in the Masonic cemetery at Albany. Born source: Robison-Parmer Family Tree by George William Robison

BIO: A TRIBUTE TO MRS. P. R. GRIFFITH The funeral services of Mrs. P.R. Griffith were held at the Griffith home Tuesday at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Griffith was born near Rocklane and spent her entire life in the vicinity of her birth. She was one of the kindest, most patient and beloved of women. She lived among us the friend of all. For almost a half-century, she with her husband, lived in helpful companionship and wrought together, building a home for themselves, their children and their friends; for theirs was a hospitable home where neighbors and friends were always welcome. When we had sung the songs and read the scriptures that she loved and spoken words of appreciation and comfort, we laid her to rest among the shrubbery and the trees of the beautiful cemetery at Greenwood.
