Rebecca ran away from home at age 14 to marry William Clark. They lived in Bledsoe County, Tenn. near Chattanooga, where Mary and two other children were born. They moved to Wayne Co. Mo. about 1851and William homesteaded 500 acres on Lost Creek. Tax records indicate he was prosperous.
