General Notes (Husband)



 William Campbell Preston b.12-27-1794 d.5-21-1860 was bor n in Philadelphia where his parents were living when his fa ther was in Congress. He married twice, first to Miss Mar y Coalter. They had no children. Secondly to Miss Louisa Pe nelope Davis. The Hon. William C. Preston died in Columbia , SC after a life of literary and political prominence. H e served as Governor of South Carolina. They had one child : Sarah Buchanan Campbell Preston who died at age 18.
