As a young man, Abe was a professional boxer, before he began what would be a twelve year career at United Airlines in South San Francisco, CA.  But,  what Abe loved to do most was play poker.  He had a natural talent for the game and soon became known as a professional gambler. After retiring from the airlines he and Ruby bought their first race horse, which opened up yet another world of gambling.  Abe spent his retirement years doing what he loved; duck hunting, golfing and cheering on his favorite baseball team the Oakland A's.
