He recognized church covenant in 1731, and on the 30th November 1741, he married Hannah Colton, probably daughter of Daniel Colton of Guilford. On the 4th January, 1766, his house took fire, and in the effort to save one of his children from the flames, he was so badly burned as to cause his death in a few hours. He wa 53 years of age at the time of his death. Letters of administration were granted to his widow, Hannah, February 2, 1768. The inventory of his estate wa L1,161 19s 10d.[Downing.ged]
