Phil Perkins stated in 1995 that Herman owned and operated a bakery in Castine, fourth business on Main Street north of Water Street on the east side (where the open alleyway exists today giving access to Bah's Bakery), and that Herman may be buried in Bangor, ME [Perkins is responsible for the Castine cemetery and is a professional educator and historian].
