At the close of the late war wit h Engl an d, th e inh abitants ofBelfast Maine, welcomed th eir sol die rs hom e wit h a triumphly reception. Mrs. How ard wa s in t he conc orse t o welcomeher husband, Willar d Howard , and he r broth er, Joh n Toothaker, a slender , tall yout h fiftee n years ol d andtha t her little son E lsol might b e able t o see his f ather an d uncle, she li fted him on t o her sho lder, that h e might se eover the h eads of the cr owd. The l ittle boy, El asol, lie s near hi s mother but di ed four yea rs previous t o his mothe r, i n 1860 aged 50 yea rs....
